Don Diego Juan, Gobernador del pueblo de Altotonga de la jurisdicción de Jalacingo, y Pedro Hernández, Alcalde, dijeron mediante Andrés Pérez intérprete de esta jurisdicción, que en cumplimiento de lo mandado acerca de las escuelas que debe haber en los pueblos, han buscado a Domingo López para que sea su maestro por 2 años que han de correr desde el 1 de julio del presente año, para ello se obligan a pagar 80 pesos de oro común, más 2 fanegas de maíz, 2 huevos cada semana, obligándose el maestro a enseñar la lengua castellana, la doctrina cristiana, a leer y escribir, ocupando 3 horas en la mañana y 3 en la tarde.
