El regidor Luis Pacho Mejía, dueño del ingenio Nuestra Señora de los Remedios que fue del Contador Alonso de Villanueva, dijo que habiéndose rematado el citado ingenio y los sitios de estancias de ganado mayor, en términos de La Antigua ciudad de Veracruz, por los acreedores en 64 000 pesos de oro común, el 3 de diciembre de 1619, y en el cual entraron los censos que estaban cargados en los bienes ejecutados; uno de ellos, valorizado en 7 000 pesos de principal, se impuso el 20 de agosto de 1597 en favor de Diego Hernández Victoria, vecino de la ciudad de México. Por tanto, en conformidad con el dicho remate, el regidor Luis Pacho Mejía reconoce el mencionado censo en favor de los herederos de Diego Hernández Victoria.
