Pedro de Licona, mulato libre, residente en Jalapa, dijo que habrá tres años viniendo de la Veracruz, dejó en la estancia de ganado mayor de Juan López Ruiz Matamoros, vecino de Jalapa, un macho de carga, de cuyo paraje se lo hurtaron; y haciendo diligencias, hoy lo halló en poder de José Hernández, indio ladino que sirve a Francisco de Castro, vecino de Jalapa, en su molino de pan moler que fue de los herederos de Lucas Martín Ibáñez, y para obviar pleitos, se convino con el susodicho en otorgarle recibo y lasto, en cuya conformidad, recibe de José Hernández el macho que le fue hurtado y le dio poder para que cobre de la persona a quien lo compró, el valor del semoviente.
