Don Patricio José de Santa María, vecino de Jalapa, dijo que debe al Bachiller Nicolás Ricardo Grant de Guzmán, 700 pesos, y habiendo fallecido dicho don Nicolás y declarado en su testamento destinar esta cantidad a la Cofradía del Señor de la Santa Veracruz, otorga que se obliga a pagar al Mayordomo actual de la mencionada cofradía, 35 pesos de réditos cada año desde hoy en adelante hasta la redención de la deuda, y para la seguridad de su pago hipoteca una casa ubicada en la calle del Ganado a la linde del mesón que llaman de Santa María, que hace esquina con la que fue de don Juan de Dios Thormes.
