Don José Hernández, Gobernador, don Mateo de Aguilar y don Pedro Juan, Alcaldes, Francisco de Santiago y Esteban de la Cruz, Regidores, y Francisco Martín, Escribano, en voz y en nombre del común y naturales del pueblo de San Andrés Acatlán dijeron por medio de Andrés Pérez, intérprete, que en cumplimiento de Real Cédula que dispone la fundación de escuelas con maestros que enseñen a los indios la lengua castellana, aprendan en ella la doctrina cristiana, a leer y escribir, han convenido con Mateo Ignacio Pulido, vecino de la Nueva Veracruz, para que les asista en ese ministerio por 4 años, pagándole 70 pesos, más 10 fanegas de maíz, y cada muchacho le ha de llevar un huevo cada semana, leña y agua.
