El Doctor José María Laso de la Vega, Cura, Vicario y Juez eclesiástico de la ciudad de Veracruz, residente en la Villa de Xalapa, dijo que Juana Méndez y Esteban Paulete en cumplimiento de la última voluntad de Andrea de Argote, procedieron a fundar una capellanía con la cantidad de 800 pesos, y cargo de 27 misas rezadas al año. Por tanto, usando el nombramiento y cargo de patrono que el otorgante tiene, nombra como capellán a don Ignacio Luna, hijo legítimo de don Manuel de Luna y de doña Teresa Lemus, originario de Veracruz, quien se halla estudiando filosofía en el Real y Pontificio Colegio Palafoxiano de Puebla.
