El Tesorero Diego de Gamboa, y su mujer, Sebastiana del Moral, dieron a censo redimible a Juan López Ruiz Matamoros, tío de doña Sebastiana, vecino de esta provincia, la mitad del ingenio nombrado San Sebastián Maxtlatlan, situado a 4 leguas de Jalapa, con todos los esclavos, tierras, aguas, cañaverales, ganados, aperos y demás cosas pertenecientes a dicha mitad, y un molino de agua de pan moler ubicado en este pueblo, cerca del Convento de San Francisco.
