Don Miguel de Mendiburu e Irigoyen, del Comercio de España, residente en Jalapa, exhibió escritura hecha en Cádiz el 15 de abril de 1780, en la que don José de Miranda se obliga a pagar al otorgante la cantidad de 3, 200 pesos que le suplió don Juan Jacinto Palomo a riesgo de mar, cuya cantidad lo corrió sobre 3 tercios, que embarcó en el navío nombrado Gallardo, el cual naufragó en el paraje nombrado Cabo Rojo cerca de San Juan Puerto Rico, en los que los 3 tercios no se salvaron, por lo que el otorgante señala que da por cancelada la citada escritura y libra de deuda a Miranda.
