El Capitán Don Sebastián de la Higuera Matamoros, y su esposa, Doña Josefa de Arellano e Irala[Josefa de Irala y Arellano], vecinos de esta provincia, dueños de los ingenios La Santísima Trinidad y Nuestra Señora de la Concepción, dieron su poder cumplido al Alférez Juan Montero, vecino de la nueva ciudad de Veracruz, generalmente para todos sus pleitos, causas civiles y criminales, y especialmente, para que en sus nombres parezcan ante todas las justicias de esta Nueva España y hagan las diligencias, pedimentos, presenten sus escritos, papeles y probanzas, en razón de su naturaleza, limpieza, y abolengos maternos y paternos, los cuales se han de hacer en las ciudades de México, Los Ángeles y la nueva Veracruz.
