Don José Arias y Torija, natural de la ciudad de León en los Reinos de Castilla y residente en Jalapa, hijo legítimo de don Salvador de Arias y de doña María Torija, difuntos, otorga su testamento donde declara tener en compañía con don Pedro López Gómez, vecino de Sanlúcar de Barrameda, la hacienda y trapiche de la Orduña. Dijo estar casado con doña María Josefa [Fernández de] Ulloa [y Cardeña], hija de don Francisco Javier Fernández de Ulloa y de doña Antonia Cardeña. Nombra albacea testamentaria en primer lugar a su esposa y en segundo al padre de su mujer. Como heredera universal nombra a dicha su esposa.
