José Cortés, Gobernador, don Domingo Juan y don Cristóbal Hernández, Alcaldes, Andrés Martín y Miguel Salvador, Regidores, y Tomás Andrés, Escribano del pueblo de Jalcomulco, dijeron que en cumplimiento de Real Cédula que dispone la fundación de escuelas con maestros que enseñen a los indios la lengua castellana, aprendan en ella la doctrina cristiana, a leer y escribir, han convenido con don Andrés Pimentel, vecino del ingenio Grande, residente en el pueblo de Jalapa para que les asista en ese ministerio pagándole 70 pesos, 12 fanegas de maíz, un huevo que ha de dar cada muchacho por semana, agua, leña y molendera.
