El Capitán Don Carlos de Sámano y Quiñones, dueño del ingenio nombrado San Miguel Almolonga, como tutor y curador de Diego de Aviñón, mulato libre, de 17 años de edad, lo pone por aprendiz en el oficio de herrero con Francisco Díaz de la Cueva, vecino de Jalapa, por tiempo de 4 años que corren desde hoy día de la fecha, durante los cuales le ha de tener en su casa, darle de comer,vestir, cama, curarlo y enseñarle dicho oficio; y cumplidos los 4 años, le dará un vestido de paño ordinario ( capote. ropilla, calzones, un sombrero, zapatos, camisa, medias) y un jubón de cotense.
