El Capitán Don Sebastián de la Higuera Matamoros, residente en su ingenio de Nuestra Señora de la Concepción, dio su poder cumplido al Alférez Diego de Simancas, vecino de la ciudad de Los Ángeles, generalmente para en todos sus pleitos, causas civiles y criminales, y para que en su nombre cobre los pesos de oro, joyas, esclavos, mercaderías, derechos y acciones que le deban; asimismo, le dio este poder como administrador general de todas sus haciendas, ingenios y estancias de ganados mayores y menores; especialmente, para que venda un censo que tiene sobre el ingenio de Nuestra Señora de los Remedios, el cual fue del regidor Luis Pacho Mejía, de un mil y más pesos de oro común de principal.
