Don Juan Domingo, Capitán Alcalde de Teocelo; Lucas Martín, Regidor; y Juan de Santiago, Alguacil Mayor, dijeron que en cumplimiento de lo mandado para que tengan escuela en su pueblo, han convenido con Antonio de la Cruz Méndez, natural y escribano actual de ese pueblo a enseñarles, obligándose a pagarle 5 pesos cada mes, más una fanega de maíz por tiempo de cuatro años, un huevo cada viernes por muchacho, y el maestro se obliga a enseñarles la lengua castellana, la doctrina cristiana, a leer y escribir, 3 horas por la mañana y 3 en la tarde.
