Don Antonio de Orduña Loyando, dueño de este ingenio, pareció ante Don Antonio Rosel y Lugo, Alcalde Mayor de Jalapa, y registró 20 catas que hizo para minas en el cerro [tierras] nombrado Zoncuantla, en esta jurisdicción, al que puso por nombre Cerro de la Purísima Concepción de Nuestra Señora cuya principal mina de una vara en cuadra, mira al Oriente y corre de Norte a Sur, la cerca un río que los naturales les llaman Pisquiatl, la cual podría ser de oro, plata, cobre o cualquier otro metal.
