Juan de Echagaray, Gentilhombre de la Cámara de su Majestad, vecino de la Nueva Ciudad de la Veracruz, residente en el pueblo de Jalapa, dijo que don Luis de la Barrera, vecino de Orizaba, le dio 150 pesos de oro común por la libertad y precio de María Manuela Gutiérrez, esclava mulata blanca de 18 a 19 años, la cual hubo por compra que hizo en la Ciudad de la Puebla, pero la tenía en poder de don Lorenzo de la Torre, vecino de la Villa de Córdoba, a quien le hizo un papel de resguardo, pero ahora le ha pedido lo reduzca en escritura, por tanto otorga que liberta a la mencionada esclava de toda sujeción y cautiverio por los 150 pesos que tiene recibidos.
