Don Tomás de la Cruz, gobernador actual del pueblo de Nuestra Señora de la Asunción Xilotepec; sus alcaldes Don Diego Juan y Don Tomás de la Cruz; regidor Miguel Diego; alguacil mayor Gaspar de la Cruz; escribano Nicolás Antonio, dijeron que en cumplimiento de una real cédula de Su Majestad, el Capitán Don Juan Francisco de Herrera, Alcalde Mayor de Jalapa, les asignó por maestro de escuela a José Lagunas, español, vecino de Naolinco, por tiempo de cuatro años, a partir del 27 del corriente; y ellos se obligaron a pagarle 190 pesos de oro común anuales, más 12 fanegas de maíz, un huevo el viernes y otro el sábado por cada muchacha o muchacho a la semana.
