El Lic. José Romero, presbítero, residente en el ingenio nombrado Nuestra Señora de la Concepción, del Capitán Don Sebastián de la Higuera Matamoros, dio su poder cumplido a Juan Matías de Viedma, vecino de la nueva ciudad de Veracruz, generalmente para que en su nombre reciba de cualesquier personas los pesos de oro y demás bienes muebles y raíces que le deban; y para que pueda arrendar unas casas que tiene en la calle del Colegio de la Compañía de Jesús, en la dicha ciudad, linde por la una parte con casas de Antonio Méndez Chilón, y por la otra, con las de Diego de la Cruz Camareno, en los precios y plazos que concertare.
