El Bachiller Antonio Mateo Ortiz de Zárate, Clérigo Presbítero Domiciliario del Obispado de la Puebla, vecino de Jalapa, albacea y heredero de su difunto hermano el Bachiller Mateo Antonio Ortiz de Zárate, otorga que funda una obra pía de misas con el capital de 1, 676 pesos y 4 reales que le deben los herederos de don Domingo Díaz Mier, quienes otorgarán reconocimiento y contribuirán con los respectivos réditos a razón de 5 % al síndico del Convento de Nuestro Padre San Francisco de Jalapa para que en su iglesia se celebren las misas por el alma del mencionado difunto. Nombra como patrón de esta obra pía a la venerable Mesa del Tercer Orden de Penitencia de este pueblo.
