El Lic. Don Juan de Bañuelos Cabeza de Vaca, beneficiado del partido de Jalapa, como albacea testamentario de Doña Sebastiana del Moral, vecina que fue de este pueblo, fundó una capellanía de misas por su alma y las demás de su intención en la cantidad de 2 516 pesos y 8 granos de oro común, los cuales caben en el quinto de sus bienes, y rentan 125 pesos de oro común anules, y fueron impuestos en el ingenio de San Sebastián Matlatlán que hoy posee Don Fernando Ruiz de Córdava y Arellano, quien cuando adquirió esta fábrica se obligó a recocer dicho censo.
