Ante el Capitán Juan de Sámano y Quiñones, Alcalde Mayor de Jalapa, el gobierno indígena del pueblo Jalapa solicitó licencia para dar en arrendamiento un mesón que la comunidad nativa tiene en la plaza pública, con cuya renta pagan los tributos a Su Majestad; otorgada la licencia, los Alcaldes, Alguaciles y principales indígenas, arrendaron el citado mesón a Luis Hernández, vecino de esta provincia, por tiempo de tres años y a razón de 150 pesos de oro común anuales.
