Diego de la Torre Arnate y María de la Candelaria Rodríguez, marido y mujer vecinos del pueblo de Jalapa, otorgan libertad y soltura a Cayetana de la Torre, esclava criolla nacida en su casa, por 200 pesos de oro común, 100 de ellos se los ha entregado y los 100 restantes se los ha de pagar juntamente y de mancomún con Juan José de Amaya con quien pretende contraer matrimonio, en el término de un año de la fecha de esta escritura, en cuya virtud se desisten y apartan de los derechos de propiedad y señorío que sobre la esclava tenían.
