El Capitán Don Antonio de Acevedo Carvajal, Alcalde Mayor de los pueblos de Apa y Tepeapulco, certificó que habiendo fallecido Don Antonio de Ortega, marido de Doña Nicolasa de Herrera, se procedió a los inventarios de sus bienes, su fecha el 17 de diciembre de 1695, y a pedimento de dicha Doña Nicolasa de Herrera, se emancipó a Manuel de Ortega, su hijo legítimo, y le entregó un atajo de 16 mulas aparejadas de laso y reata, y un esclavo negro llamado Manuel, arriero, por razón de su legítima paterna, que importó la cantidad de 997 pesos de oro común.
