Don Sebastián de la Higuera Matamoros, dueño de su ingenio, síndico del Convento de San Francisco de Jalapa, dijo que en la ejecución seguida contra los bienes de Francisco Luis por 150 fanegas de maíz, a 3 pesos cada una que debía al dicho convento, se remataron una casa, tierras y otros bienes, en este pueblo, en Antonio de Castro por la cantidad de 500 pesos de oro común; no obstante lo referido, Domingo Luis acudió a la paga y satisfacción al referido convento de su débito, por lo tanto, el otorgante declaró que los bienes rematados en Antonio de Castro, son y pertenecen al dicho Domingo Luis, vecino de Jalapa.
