Alonso Muñoz, vecino de Jalapa, declaró poseer una esclava negra llamada Catalina Angola, la cual parió un mulato nombrado Diego, de dos meses de edad, y éste fue reconocido por su padre Gonzalo Martín Carnero[Gonzalo de Martín Carnero], español, albañil, vecino de Jalapa, quien le ofreció 100 pesos de oro común para que le otorgue su libertad; y habiendo recibido los referidos pesos, dio su carta de libertad a Diego, mulato, para que sea libre y su padre haga de él a su voluntad.
