El Padre Fray Boecio de Ceballos, actual Prior del convento de Santo Domingo en la nueva Veracruz, dijo que por cuanto su hermano el Capitán Don José de Ceballos y Burgos, por cláusula del poder que para hacer su testamento, de fecha en este ingenio a los 23 días del mes de julio de 1671, le nombró por su albacea testamentario, junto con otros; y respecto de hallarse muy ocupado en negocios muy importantes de su religión, no puede acudir al cumplimiento del albaceazgo; por lo tanto, se desistió de él y consintió que los demás nombrados, usen el cargo libremente.
