El Bachiller Manuel Mellado y Estrada, Presbítero del Obispado de la Puebla, hijo legítimo de José Mellado, difunto, y de Antonia de la Parra, mujer legítima de don Luis de Estrada, estando enfermo en cama otorga su testamento de la siguiente manera: manda se dé al Mayordomo de la capilla del ingenio de Nuestra Señora de la Concepción 50 pesos para ayuda de la vidriera que se intenta poner; se den 11 pesos de limosna para la compra de una campana; le debe a Juan Hernández 50 pesos; a Gregoria Vázquez 100, entre otras deudas que tiene y le tienen. Entre sus bienes se cuenta una mula y un caballo. Nombra como albaceas al Bachiller Juan de Matamoros, cura interino, a don Diego de Castro y Gamboa y a don Juan Montañés de la Cueva. Como heredera nombra a su madre.
