El Capitán Don Francisco de la Higuera Matamoros, dueño de este ingenio, dijo que por cuanto está próximo a ir a la ciudad de México y a otras partes, y tiene que dejar de acudir al gobierno de su ingenio, dio su poder cumplido a Don Gonzalo Márquez de Acevedo y al Tesorero Don Gaspar de los Reyes, vecinos de Jalapa, para que en su nombre administren el ingenio de La Santísima Trinidad, la Hacienda de Cempoala y todos sus bienes raíces y semovientes de su propiedad.
