Don Francisco de Santiago, gobernador de Tlacolula; sus alcaldes Don Diego de Mendoza, Pedro de Santiago y Miguel Clemente; regidor Miguel Sánchez, y Diego García, en nombre de su pueblo dijeron que habiéndose cancelado la escritura del maestro de escuela de su comunidad y para cumplir con lo mandado por su Majestad, la justicia de Jalapa les puso por maestro a Juan Martín, español, vecino de esta jurisdicción, por tiempo de dos años, a partir del 4 del presente, al precio de 140 pesos de oro común anuales, más 12 fanegas de maíz en cada uno, y un huevo el viernes y otro el sábado, por cada muchacha y muchacho a la semana.
