Mediante Juan Díaz de la Cueva, intérprete, el escribano Alonso de Neira Claver dio a a conocer el pedimento que hicieron los naturales de Almolonga al gobernador, alcaldes y otros indios mandones de Naolinco, los cuales dijeron les consta lo referido por los nativos de Almolonga, quienes están pobrísimos y empeñados, pues de los naturales congregados, sólo quedaban Don Mateo Bautista y Don Tomás de Santiago con sus mujeres e hijos, sucesores en las tierras de Barranca Seca, y les haría mucho bien el venderlas a censo.
