Juana de Castro, viuda de Sebastián de la Peña, su albacea y heredera, dijo que entre los bienes que quedaron de su marido hay un esclavo llamado Cristóbal de la Peña, mulato cocho, delgado, alto de cuerpo, criollo de 40 años y por haberles servido bien, con mucha lealtad, así por otras causas y motivos le tiene prometido darle libertad, en cuya virtud lo horra y liberta de toda sujeción y esclavitud.
