Don Francisco de la Cruz, gobernador de Chiltoyac; sus alcaldes Juan Francisco y Cristóbal García; alguacil mayor Tomás de la Cruz; escribano Domingo Luis, dijeron que por cuanto Su Majestad fue servido despachar una real cédula para que se pongan escuelas en los pueblos de esta jurisdicción, y en su cumplimiento, la justicia de Jalapa, les concertó por tal maestro por tiempo de dos años a Cristóbal Martín, español, vecino de Jalapa, por la cantidad de 60 pesos de oro común anuales, y de comer, lo que le pudieren dar de sustento.
