Antonio de Zárate y María Lagunes, viuda vecina del pueblo de Jalapa, el primero maestro herrador, dijeron que la segunda puso a un hijo con el maestro para que aprendiera su oficio, mediante escritura de 15 de abril de 1719, cuyo maestro reconoce que el muchacho no es para ese oficio por lo que han acordado de común acuerdo, liberarlo y cancelar la escritura.
