Juan Martín, Francisco Diego y Pascual Alonso, Alcaldes del pueblo de San Pablo; Pedro Jiménez y Agustín Gregorio, Regidores; y Diego Martín, Escribano, dijeron mediante Andrés Pérez, intérprete, que cumpliendo con lo mandado sobre que haya escuelas en todos los pueblos, se obligan a pagar a Francisco de Buendía, 85 pesos de oro común en cada año por el tiempo de 2 que han de correr desde el 8 de febrero de este año, más una fanega de maíz cada mes, un huevo cada semana por muchacho y una india tesquí que le haga las tortillas; el maestro se obliga a tener escuela para enseñar a los naturales desde los 5 años hasta que tomen estado y las muchachas hasta los 10 años, la lengua castellana, la doctrina cristiana, a leer y escribir, 3 horas en la mañana y 3 en la tarde.
