Don Miguel Morales y don José Mariano Barrientos, dijeron que desde el 4 de octubre de 1811, se haya en esta Real Cárcel don Tomás Matos, por unas denuncias que hicieron unos vecinos de Misantla, motivo por el cual el Juez Subdelegado lo mandó poner en cárcel, y se llamó a los acusadores, quienes no acudieron a la cita, por no encontrarse en dicho pueblo que aún se haya ocupado de los enemigos, fugó de él el Justicia legítimo, por lo que no pudieron examinarse a los delatores que se hayan entre los rebeldes, por lo que el señor Juez ha permitido su excarcelación bajo fianza.
