Don Sebastián de la Cruz, Alcalde actual de los naturales del pueblo de Santiago Ayahualulco, como principal cabecera de la República, dijo que en cumplimiento de Real Cédula que dispone la fundación de escuelas con maestros que enseñen a los indios la lengua castellana con separación de los varones de las hembras, se obligan a pagar a Nicolás Amador, en quien concurren las calidades que para ello se requiere, 60 pesos de oro común por año, media fanega de maíz cada 15 días, un borrego cada 15 días, un huevo el viernes y otro el sábado por cada uno de los muchachos y muchachas.
