Don Francisco Fernández, gobernador del pueblo de San Pedro Tonayán; sus alcaldes Don Diego Martín y Don Pedro Hernández, dijeron que por cuanto Su Majestad por real cédula mandó se pongan maestros de escuela en los pueblos de esta jurisdicción, y en su cumplimiento, el Capitán Don Nicolás Alejandro de Meza, Alcalde Mayor de Jalapa, les ha puesto por maestro a Don Francisco Martín Matamoros, vecino de Jalapa, por tiempo de tres años, a razón de 180 pesos de oro común anuales, 12 fanegas de maíz en cada uno, y un huevo el viernes, por cada muchacha y muchacho a la semana.
