Bartolomé Martín, mayordomo de la recua de Isabel Muñoz, vecina del pueblo de Maltrata, manifestó dirigirse a la ciudad de la Nueva Veracruz, lleva en su recua a cuatro indios nombrados Felipe, Francisco, Juan y Gaspar. Asimismo, el corregidor le notificó de la ordenanza que prohíbe bajar con indios a la Nueva Veracruz, ni pasar con ellos de este pueblo, a partir del 1 de junio de cada año hasta el otro día después de San Francisco, por la mucha agua que en estos meses llueve y con la que muchos naturales condolecen y mueren; también se le informó que a los indios debe dársele buen tratamiento y no servirse de ellos contra su voluntad.
