El Capitán Juan de Zúñiga Ceballos, Alcalde Mayor y Capitán a Guerra de este pueblo y su distrito, Juez de Caminos, Registro de Ganado y otras comisiones, nombra como su Lugarteniente a Diego Notario, para el uso y ejercicio de Teniente del pueblo de Maltrata, y le da poder y facultad que de derecho se requiere para que con vara de justicia aprenda delincuentes y negros forajidos, también manda a los vecinos de dicho pueblo le hayan y tengan por tal, acudiendo a sus llamamientos dándole el auxilio y favor que les pidiere.
