Don Manuel Gil y Cosío, natural de la Nueva Veracruz, vecino y de su comercio, hijo de los difuntos don Andrés Gil de la Torre y de doña María Josefa Cosío, otorga su testamento, donde declara que a las mandas forzosas se dé la limosna de 500 pesos, es casado con doña María del Pilar Camargo, quien no llevó nada al matrimonio, procrearon dos hijos que ya son difuntos, deja una memoria en poder de su esposa, ordena que de sus bienes se den a su hermana política doña Agustina Camargo 3 000 pesos por vía de donativo gracioso, nombra albaceas a su esposa doña María del Pilar, don Francisco Emparan, y a don Manuel de Villa y Gibaja, ambos de la Nueva Veracruz, nombra heredera universal a su esposa.
