Juan de la Calleja, residente en este pueblo, dio su poder cumplido a Rodrigo Hernández de la Calleja, su hermano, para que representando su persona parezca ante Su Majestad y los señores presidente y oidores de la Real Audiencia de Nueva España, en grado de apelación, nulidad y agravio que le hace Don Jorge Suárez Franco, Alcalde Mayor de la antigua Veracruz, en la causa que se sigue contra él por decir que mandó le quitasen una mulata y lo demás contenido en el proceso.
