Para las diligencias de esta causa, el escribano Alonso de Neira Claver citó a los naturales de Acatlán, y les dio a entender por lengua de Juan Díaz de la Cueva, el pedimento de Don Mateo Bautista y Don Tomás de Santiago, los cuales dijeron que las referidas tierras les pertenecen por haberlas heredado de sus antepasados, y por estar lejos de su paraje y ser barrancosas no les son de gran utilidad, de tal manera que la licencia para venderlas a censo será de buena obra.
