Las religiosas del convento de Santa Teresa advocación del Patriarca San José, en relación con el legado del Lic. Juan de Vera Betancurt, dijeron que conforme a las reglas y constituciones de su sagrada religión no pueden recibir dentro de la clausura de su convento a ninguna esclava ni otra persona que sirva de puertas adentro, por lo cual, renunciaron al legado que de dos esclavas se hace a su convento.
