Manuel Sánchez Carranza, vecino del pueblo de San Juan de los Llanos, hijo legítimo de Juan Sánchez Carranza y de Felipa de Portilla y Zamudio, estando enfermo en cama otorga poder para testar a Francisca Javiera de Herrera, su legítima mujer y a Bartolomé Carrión, su compadre, para que en su nombre puedan hacer su testamento con las mandas, legados y demás cláusulas que les tiene comunicados. Declara ser casado con la mencionada Francisca, quien trajo de dote 300 pesos y él no tenía caudal alguno. Tuvieron 3 hijos a quienes nombra como herederos.
