Don Juan Portela, hijo de don Gregorio Portela y de la difunta doña María Alonso, vecino de la Nueva Veracruz, dijo que estando enfermo en el hospital de San Hipólito Mártir, otorga su testamento donde declara que por bienes suyos tiene 300 pesos en poder de su albacea, más la ropa de su uso, no ha recibido herencia de sus padres, es casado con Isabel de Álvarez con quien procreó dos hijos; como albacea nombra a José de las Piedras y para que se encargue de su entierro a José de Fuentes, y como herederos nombra a sus hijos.
