Don Raymundo Luis de Laiglesia, hijo de don Raymundo de Laiglesia y de doña Josefa Hugues, natural de Sevilla y residente en este pueblo de Jalapa, otorga poder a su esposa doña María Josefa Verdugo de la Rocha, para que después de su fallecimiento ordene su testamento, donde declara que cuando se casó la susodicha su esposa, ella llevó 4, 900 pesos que heredó de su padre y 3, 100 pesos de su tío el Doctor José Verdugo, las cuales sumaron 8, 000 pesos por los que él le entregó recibo dotal; nombra a la mencionada María como tutora y curadora de sus hijos, nombra heredera a su madre doña Josefa Hugues, y en caso de que él no dejase descendencia también nombra heredera a su esposa.
