Don Bartolomé Álvarez, natural de San Esteban de Cambio, Obispado de Florencia, hijo de don Manuel Álvarez y de doña Mariana de Novo, otorga su testamento en donde declara que en el año de 1787 contrajo matrimonio con Gertrudis Muñiz y no llevó dote alguna, pero después por muerte de sus padres heredó en ganado vacuno y otros útiles 949 pesos y 3 reales, y él tenía en aquel tiempo la cantidad de 1 500 pesos, procrearon a Gertrudis Álvarez, él se casó por segunda vez con doña María de Jesús Vela, de quien percibió 200 pesos, procrearon 9 hijos, dentro de los bienes que posee se encuentra una tienda mestiza, un ranchito de ganado mayor, nombra por sus albaceas a su esposa María de Jesús, a don Juan Manuel Vela y a don Diego Briseño.
