Juan Muñoz, dueño de recua, vecino de Tepeaca, manifestó dirigir su recua hacia la Nueva Veracruz y llevar en ella seis indios para su servicio, nombrados Gaspar, Miguel, Pedro, Martín, Jusepe [José] y Francisco. Asimismo, el corregidor le notificó de la ordenanza que prohíbe bajar con indios a la Nueva Veracruz a partir del 1 de junio de cada año hasta el otro día después de San Francisco, por la mucha agua que en estos meses llueve y con la que muchos naturales enferman, condolecen y mueren; también se le informó que a los indios debe dársele buen tratamiento y no servirse de ellos contra su voluntad.
