El Capitán Juan de Vargas Basurto y de la Cueva, Alcalde Mayor y Capitán a Guerra de este pueblo, su partido y jurisdicción, Juez de Camino, Registros, Tributos y otras comisiones, dijo que por cuanto hay asuntos a los que no puede asistir personalmente, razón por la cual es necesario nombrar un Teniente General, por lo que nombra como tal al Capitán Juan de Garate y Vargas, su hijo, para que lo ejerza en todos las cosas y casos a él anexas, y manda a los vecinos y habitantes lo tengan como tal.
