El Capitán Don José de la Higuera Matamoros, natural de esta jurisdicción, vecino de La Antigua Veracruz, hijo legítimo del Capitán Don Sebastián de la Higuera Matamoros, difunto, y de Doña Josefa de Arellano y de Irala, vecina de la ciudad de Puebla de los Ángeles, habiendo casado con Doña María de la Barrera y Rojas, hija legítima de Don Juan de la Barrera y Rojas y de Doña Agustina de Pastrana, difuntos, vecinos que fueron de la ciudad de México, su señor suegro le prometió en dote cierta cantidad de bienes, y ahora, por mano de la dicha Doña María de la Barrera y Rojas, le hace entrega de 1787 pesos y 6 tomines de oro común, en joyas, ropa, enseres domésticos, colchones, sábanas y otros géneros.
